Today, a growing number of work sites require both eye and ear protection.
Safety-conscious supervisors are constantly challenged to find products that
provide protection for their employees without sacrificing comfort. Hearing
protection poses the greatest problem, because workers don't realize that
constant and repetitive sounds at any noise level will result in hearing
impairment.
"We believe we have a design that meets all the criteria," said
company president Michael Tutor. "The sleek wraparound styling conforms
to different face shapes and sizes, while our super-soft reusable Jelli plugs
provide excellent noise attenuation."

Each pair comes with a breakaway neck cord that keeps Radians at the ready.
Even workers who are in and out of hazardous areas can put them on and take
them off with ease. The adjustable-length temples allow perfect individual
fit, and unlike traditional over-the-ear temples, they stay in place without
sliding off the worker's face due to vigorous activity and/or perspiration.
And, because the Jelli plugs attach directly to the temple posts, workers and
employers can expect longer plug life.
In setting out to "change the face of safety," Radians'
developers believe that they've covered the spectrum of eye-and-ear protection
requirements: safety, comfort, and convenience for the worker and code
compliance for the employer.
Proudly made in the USA, all Radians products feature distortion-free
polycarbonate lenses that are anti-scratch, anti-static, anti-UV, and
optionally, anti-fog. The Radians A.V. comes in several choices of temple and
lens colors. In July, a second design, Radians Sabre will be available. Both
models meet ANSI Z87.1 1989 and have been tested according to ANSI 3.19
1974 standards.
Each Radians eye-and-ear protection system is individually packaged in a
reusable container. Replacement lenses are available, and Jelli plugs are
washable for longer wear with replacements available in bulk.
"Since we had the opportunity to develop everything from the ground
up, we have developed products that better protect workers and their employers
in order to accomplish our ultimate goal of total safety protection,"
Tutor said.
American
ingenuity is turning the safety industry on its ear. In 1995, an off-duty
fireman cutting grass had the idea to combine his safety glasses and ear plugs
in one product. Working with partners who knew firsthand the difficulties of
workers refusing to wear eye and ear protection, they set out to design an
all-in-one product that made safety compliance look cool and feel comfortable.
Four years and more than a million dollars later, Radians is proud to
